Calorie fest

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 3:54 pm

Rosie came over to my house today, then we went to Kmart. I bought socks. I also learnt how to use the self-use photo printer for printing off digital devices. That may come in handy sometime! I really should take and print more photos.

A mission to coles to buy a bottle of water became a junk food session when we decided to buy a small bit of chocolate each… and then we spotted cheesecake on the way out and couldn’t resist that either… yum yum.

To all those having a much more interesting holiday than I – nehdhghg!!!! And I mean that from the heart.

the nearly christmas update

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 9:37 pm

Phew, finally got most of my Christmas shopping done but there’s most likely some stray items I still have to get. Isn’t it funny how even when you’re not busy, you still feel busy? That’s how I feel.

So, got my results, all HAs on the pre-tertiaries! Yay! Haven’t gotten my actual scores for them though. David said something on MSN about his Mum having them. I thought he must mean the scaling document but… hmm why would your Mum have my scores, David? Sorry I had to rush offline!

“Ashes victory better than sex” says the Mercury

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 3:52 pm

AUSTRALIAN men would be prepared to go without sex to win back cricket’s coveted Ashes, a survey has found.

Men’s magazine Zoo Weekly’s survey revealed 41 per cent of the 20,000 respondents said they would abstain from sex for a month if it meant Australia would regain the Ashes from England.

Haha, how funny is that? Is that how you cricket lovers feel about it? (Just imagine that lack of sex WOULD be a sacrifice. :P )

It continues…

Four per cent of those who responded to the survey said they would go without sex for at least a year in order for the nation’s cricketing heroes to win back the Ashes.

Now that’s nationalism.

“holidays” hmm yeah right

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 9:22 pm

Just skimmed TBA, caught up on Chris and Hannah. I swear hardly anyone checks this out anymore, and I’m sure they realise that and may write with that in mind, so reading their blogs gave me a mildly voyeuristic feeling… hmmmm internet stalking.

My throat hurts. I’m tired. I have to get up early to interview someone, go to rehearsal, work on the school paper UGH then more rehearsals, maybe make it to the gym and then work out what the hell to do with my damn hair for the EC formal later tomorrow night. Got to fit my belly dancing class in there somewhere as well…

The World Cup probably deserves some sort of mention…

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 12:34 pm

Haha, there are posters all over the school supporting the French team. Obviously no one has gotten over that painful loss to Italy. Hell, I’m not over it. And I don’t even care about the world cup.

Haha! I just accidently printed 20 copies of my resume to the High School Library! *facepalm* I really can’t be bothered walking over there to save paper so I’ll just print them again here. Oh my gosh, so stupid!!

Assessment for The Matchmaker

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 3:34 pm

Oh wow. What a great day! Today we watched the rest of the video of The Matchmaker, as performed on Friday night, when you lot were there. I didn’t hate watching myself as much as I expected, actually, I sort of enjoyed it.

Then I got my marks!! STRAIGHT As!!!! In case anyone cares, those are on Criteria 2: something about communciation, 4: to do with skills and 5: presents polished performance. I also got As on all the other criteria which weren’t just assessed on performance evenings, but during the rehearsal process like organisation, co-operation, understanding of context etc. Nicola said I was the only one in the class who “got” the true context of the play. Personally, I think that’s a little far fetched, but hey, being the director, she’s entitled to her opinion.

Here are the comments that came with my marks:

“Everyone loved your work – they wanted more of you. You sustained your character which is why you achieved ‘A’ ratings and others might have just missed out. You did everything any of us could hope for in your portrayal of your character. You were confident on stage and in control at all times. You also had a sense of the style of the piece and used this to your advantage in your communications with the audience. It was an intelligent and clever characterisation and you truly ‘got’ the genre and style of the play. You made every single moment in the last scene really count. Your voice is so easy to listen to which augurs well for your solo work. You set the bench mark and highlighted where and when others hadn’t been as successful with the style of the show. One tiny thing to watch is that sometimes you drop the volume near the end of lines and they are hard to hear – while it suited this interpretation you need to be aware of it for future performances.”

Yay!!

English Studies

Filed under: Uncategorized — tanglefire @ 9:46 am

For those of you doing English Studies, what novel/movie/play/poet are you studying? For me it’s a toss up between Pride and Prejudice, Great Expectations, Hamlet, the Twelth Night and King Lear. Apparently there’s some tie we can make between Hamlet and this other play, so I might do that. Great excuse to do two plays.
