Haha! I just accidently printed 20 copies of my resume to the High School Library! *facepalm* I really can’t be bothered walking over there to save paper so I’ll just print them again here. Oh my gosh, so stupid!!

Assessment for The Matchmaker
Oh wow. What a great day! Today we watched the rest of the video of The Matchmaker, as performed on Friday night, when you lot were there. I didn’t hate watching myself as much as I expected, actually, I sort of enjoyed it.
Then I got my marks!! STRAIGHT As!!!! In case anyone cares, those are on Criteria 2: something about communciation, 4: to do with skills and 5: presents polished performance. I also got As on all the other criteria which weren’t just assessed on performance evenings, but during the rehearsal process like organisation, co-operation, understanding of context etc. Nicola said I was the only one in the class who “got” the true context of the play. Personally, I think that’s a little far fetched, but hey, being the director, she’s entitled to her opinion.
Here are the comments that came with my marks:
“Everyone loved your work – they wanted more of you. You sustained your character which is why you achieved ‘A’ ratings and others might have just missed out. You did everything any of us could hope for in your portrayal of your character. You were confident on stage and in control at all times. You also had a sense of the style of the piece and used this to your advantage in your communications with the audience. It was an intelligent and clever characterisation and you truly ‘got’ the genre and style of the play. You made every single moment in the last scene really count. Your voice is so easy to listen to which augurs well for your solo work. You set the bench mark and highlighted where and when others hadn’t been as successful with the style of the show. One tiny thing to watch is that sometimes you drop the volume near the end of lines and they are hard to hear – while it suited this interpretation you need to be aware of it for future performances.”
Yay!!
English Studies
For those of you doing English Studies, what novel/movie/play/poet are you studying? For me it’s a toss up between Pride and Prejudice, Great Expectations, Hamlet, the Twelth Night and King Lear. Apparently there’s some tie we can make between Hamlet and this other play, so I might do that. Great excuse to do two plays.

Nerd Test
In other news, I got a 12 on the nerd test. Well, there was way too much maths and science! As if you need that to be a nerd.

Preview Performance – The Matchmaker
I do pre-tertiary drama, and today was our first performance of The Matchmaker (by Thornton Wilder) in front of an actual audience. The audience was made up of students from St Mary’s, Dominic and Cosgrove, and they didn’t have to pay because it was still technically a rehearsal performance, and there are some things we need to iron over. The most frustrating thing about the performance was probably that the AUDIENCE JUST WOULDN’T LAUGH! Not to flatter my own class or anything, but what we’re performing to them is one funny play. Even if we acted like crap, the mere text is funny.
They did laugh sometimes, especially in the second half, I guess because they had to warm up to us. An audience full of people we know will be better because they won’t need to warm up, they’ll love us no matter what. “aww.” The first laugh I got was during a set change when I ran into the chaise longue because it was dark and I was carrying a huge piece of set, and made a huge noise. Immature giggling insued. Oh well, at least no one could see who it was.
I want to do this playwright justice. It’s such an awesome farce.

The Mac Debate
This is my ten cents about Macs and whether they’re cool, since I’ve seen some discussion. I use Windows 2000 at home on a computer that is incredibly slow and incredibly frustrating, and I use OSX on a laptop for school that is quite a lot faster than my home computer. So which am I going to prefer using? The laptop obviously, simply because it doesn’t drive me insane as often. However, when it DOES drive me insane it is because it has completely screwed up for no reason at all and killed all my work. Is that because it’s a mac? I have no idea. And perhaps if my home computer was a laptop I’d need it fixed more often because it’d get bashed around a lot more. I do like Macs but somehow I can’t see myself using one after I leave school… although my brother thinks I ought to… hmmm confusing….

Hello world!
Welcome to WordPress.com. This is your first post. Edit or delete it and start blogging!
Everything above this line is default. So how we all doing everybody! This is the first post so by law it has no particular content and is dead boring. I already have comments to it so that just goes to show how cool I am. Anyway, here's hoping my first blog open to RL (real life for all the non-geeks out there) will be a success.
